In 1871 Sessa started its very first operations becoming "industry" in 1921 as manufacturer of various products and devices for the transport sector. In 1956 Sessa entered the market of windows for rolling stock.

In the past, through Trenitalia, Ansaldo Breda, Alstom, Temoinsa, CAF, and other companies, Sessa gained a significant and important number of references in Italy and abroad (ETR 500, Pendolino, Minuetto and various Metros in Europe, USA and around the world).

In 1998, the private group owner of Sessa (Spacis S.p.A.) that had taken it over from Mr Sessa in 1990, decided to merge the company with Klein, a French group leader in the field of windows for rolling stock, creating Sessa Klein Italia S.p.A. Following some financial difficulties, Klein group went into liquidation and the Spacis group purchased back Sessa Klein Italia S.p.A. from the French administrative authorities.

In 2002 Spacis made the strategic decision to re-found and re-launch the company by involving new partners-managers of proven capabilities and giving them the key roles and responsibilities to operate the company. In particular: Mr. Alfredo Novelli, the new President who joined the company in December 2002, and Mr. Federico Mazzuchi, the new Sales & Marketing Chief Executive Officer who joined the company in February 2003. It was then decided to name the company Sessa Klein S.p.A. keeping the name "Klein" in the logo to convey a sense of continuity in the market of windows for rolling stock.

In 2003 the new managers took over the company from Spacis group, merged Sessa Klein with an experienced and highly qualified design and engineering company – Siprotec. They, then, made significant investments and created a new efficient, competent and modern organization. This is the reason for Sessa Klein international successes which range, for Windows and Interiors scope of supply, from the prestigious new generation of high speed Alstom RGV2N (the second generation of TGV), to the Hyundai-Rotem high speed KTX2, from the Alstom tilting New Pendolino, to the Bombardier Inova regional train, from the Kinki Sharyo Metro Project to the Alstom XTrapolis regional Train platform.
